Custom Machine & Tool Co., Inc. has been awarded US patent (#6,568,063) for a revolutionary new shaft to hub keyless locking system. The new system called Concentric Maxi Torque consists of a single set screw attachment for a tapered locking bushing. The new system has enhanced torque capacity and superior concentricity over other tapered locking devices. The enhanced features are achieved through its minimal bushing taper combined with its single screw locking and unlocking capability. The new system is an ideal replacement for press fits, keyways, pins, set screws, clamp collars and all other keyless shaft to hub attachment devices. FIRST endeavors to provide students access to power transmission and motion control components in a hands on educational experience which requires them to design, select and assemble a wide variety of components into mechanized machines and then compete with them. Mr. Robert Bennett completes his two year term as president of MPTA (Mechanical Power Transmission Association). Mr. Bennett was succeeded by Mr. Charles Lloyd from Maurey Manufacturing Corp. During Mr. Bennett's term as president, he focused on organization awareness and increasing membership.
