Business Development Manager/Outside Sales Representative

SUMMARY:

The Business Development Manager/Outside Sales Representative is responsible for establishing and developing new customers for the Company, and maintaining and enhancing existing customer relationships. The individual must be able to identify customer problems and/or opportunities, know how CMT’s products can be used to provide a solution, and be persuasive in selling the solution to the customer. The Business Development Manager/Outside Sales Representative must be organized, disciplined and self-sufficient in carrying out his/her job responsibilities. Compensation will be a combination of base salary and commission incentives. Ultimately, this individual must deliver the budgeted sales for his/her territory.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

Degree from four-year College or university preferred; or minimum of 10 years sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

*Previous Motion Control and Power Transmission Experience is strongly preferred* 

TECHNICAL AND/OR MANAGERIAL JOB COMPETENCIES:

·        Display good communication skills, both written and verbal within and outside the company.

·        Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

·        Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

·        Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

·        Ability to facilitate Engineering Meetings.

·        Highly skilled at presenting CMT’s product capabilities

·        Excellent Time and Territory management skills for optimum customer coverage.

·        Capable of managing and maintaining successful Distributor relationships.

·        Intermediate to advanced PC skills, including Excel and Word.

·        Ability to recognize a problem or potential problem and react quickly and effectively.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

·        Establish and develop new customers for the company in a defined geographic market or industry;

·        Maintain and enhance existing customer relationships to increase the amount of business and the diversity of product that CMT does with these customers by pursuing possibilities and opportunities beyond those initiated by the customer.

·        Generate new business for CMT by working with customer purchasing, manufacturing, and quality to develop “design-in” opportunities; address opportunities using CMT products, services and technical expertise.

·        Ability and willingness to prospect for new customers and contact former customers

·        Identify key decision makers to include engineering, procurement and operations.

·        Work with available resources not only within CMT, but Distributors, Factory representatives, and other outside sources to assist customers and expand knowledge of product capabilities and solutions

·        Participate in annual budgeting process to develop territory budget for sales dollars, GP (%) percentage, GP ($) and expenses. Prioritize accounts based on over all CMT dollar potential.

·        Provide in a timely and continually updated manner, call reports, account profiles, itineraries and expense reports, demonstrating professional organization and planning.

Machinist

Busy manufacturer south of Boston has an immediate need for experienced production support personnel willing to show up every day and work, specializing in honing,  deburring, broaching and other secondary/support operations as needed including CNC operating experience (not set-up or programming) in a metal cutting environment. The individual must be a self starter and capable of multi-tasking in a fast paced shop. The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

Experience with bench grinders and buffing wheels.
Experience with operating and set-up of honing machines
Verbal and written communication skills.
Basic working knowledge of safety protocol.
Basic knowledge of math.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Attention to detail a must.
Basic knowledge of hand tools (files, deburring tools, grinders, etc.).
Knowledge of shop policies and procedures on safety.
Supports manufacturing and other employees as required.
Physical requirements:  Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, standing, reaching, bending, working with hands, etc.  Must be able to wear the necessary PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.).
Overtime could be required during heavy workload times or in order to meet special customer demands.
